NB This functionality was added to DataLoad in version 4.1.
Mouse clicks are commands that will perform a right or left mouse click to occur at the co-ordinates recorded in your DataLoad spreadsheet.
Mouse clicks are a useful piece of functionality that can speed up your load and enable you to navigate to areas that can't be accessed using keystrokes alone. It can also be much quicker to move the cursor using the mouse than by issuing the necessary keystrokes.
Here are some examples where a mouse click would be useful:
To instruct a Mouse click you will need to record the co-ordinates of the mouse position in the DataLoad spreadsheet. As a user, it would be impossible for you to know these co-ordinates; however, DataLoad can identify them for you.
Here's how:
There are two commands for Mouse Clicks. They are:
*ML for a left mouse click
*MR for a right mouse click
The process for recording the co-ordinates for a right or left click is the same.
Enter the command *ML or *MR in the DataLoad spreadsheet.

A dialogue box will pop up.

Position the mouse pointer exactly where you would like the click to occur, then press the Enter key on your keyboard. The dialogue box will disappear and you will see the co-ordinates of the mouse position are recorded in your DataLoad spreadsheet.

You may want to update the Title Bar with more relevant information, so that you know the button name or form that you are clicking on.

Mouse clicks are an excellent way to navigate quickly around the Application you are loading in to, however, it is important to remember that this command is only suitable where the item to be clicked will always be in the same location. Since Oracle Applications' forms are always drawn in the same position this should not be a problem, however it is important that the forms are left in their default positions while the load is being developed and the *ML and *MR commands programmed.
The co-ordinates of a mouse position may be different on different PC's. A different screen resolution will affect a mouse co-ordinate. If you build a DataLoad spreadsheet containing mouse co-ordinates, make sure you test it before using it on a different PC than it was built on.
When entering the *ML or *MR commands, make sure they are in upper case unless you are using DataLoad V4.2 or above. Commands became case insensitive in that version.
When the dialogue box prompting you to position the mouse is displayed, do not dismiss it by clicking on the OK button, as doing so will record the mouse co-ordinates of your click on the button!
