Crossing the Ford at Morton. Although a wide river most of the crossing is carried out in backwaters. The swiftest part of the river flows along the southern bank and currents can be quite strong when river level higher.

Crossing the Ford at Morton. Note that although the river level was very low the +2" lift on the lead vehicle may give the impression that the river level was lover than it actually was. After rain the river runs quite fast & strong. Not for the faint hearted after a spell of heavy rain.

Closer view of southern Ford. Good, gently entry & exit. River not running too deep despite recent rain, although I expect that the whole lane is prone to flooding (pictures taken on 3rd Jan 04.
